2001 Michael & Rubens have the F2001 and the Relentless Red assault moves up a gear.
Mclaren are again the main opposition but plagued by race retirements. Hakkinen has one 'no start' and 6 retirements & 2 wins, with 37 points ends 5th in the drivers title. Coultard with 4 retirements, 2 wins & 10 podiums is 2nd on 65 points.
Meanwhile at Ferrari, Rubens 3 retirements & 10 podiums nets him 56 points and 3rd position. Michael takes the Drivers Title with 3 retirements, 9 wins and 14 podiums and a total of 123 points
In the Constructors title Ferrari are even more dominant winning with 179 points, Mclaren are again 2nd but dropping to 102 points this year. Williams-BMW show some resurgence ending third on 80 points
