Michael Schumacher 7 times World Champion - An easily typed or spoken few words But
Michael did not win these titles because he simply had the fastest car - As apart from 2002 & 2004 He did not. He won them
because he has the ability to wring 150% out of what is available to work with, He also has the ability to get others around
him to do the same. That is why Ferrari is "The Dream Team" TEAMWORK on a scale you never see from any of the other F1 teams
- "We Win Together & We Fail Together" - and from 1996 to 2006 we have witnessed at Ferrari something we may never see
again and I for one feel extremely privileged to have been there to see it.
Michael was Born on the 3rd Of January 1969 in Hurth-Hermuhlheim the son of a Bricklayer. In 1973 at the age of 4 on a home built Go Kart a colision with a lamp post forced Michael Schumacher off the streets and onto a race circuit for the first time at nearby Kerpen - Horrem. Little did that lamp post know it had just been hit by a kid who would, 33 Years later be a 7 times Formula One World Champion. A Champion who would Hold almost every record in the book - A book which he would have totally rewritten.

On the 23rd of August 1991 After Rising through the ranks of Go Karting, Formula Konig, Formula Ford, Formula 3, Sportscar Championship & Formula 3000 and at the age of 22 Michael was in Belgium as a late replacement for Bertrand Gachot at the 7 Up Jordon Team. Gachot was otherwise engaged assisting the U.K. Police with their enquiries after an alleged assault on a london Taxi Driver.
Michael Schumacher knew the circuit at Spa Francorchamps - (He had been round it on a bycycle !!) but He did more than enough to raise many eyebrows and open many more eyes when he qualified 7th on the grid, Outqualifying a stunned team mate - Andrea de Cesaris by some 1.5 seconds.
Unfortunately Michael's Car failed with a burned out clutch on the 1st lap..... But He had made an impact, Michael was snapped up by Benetton Ford for the last 5 races of the year and so it all began |
Now at the end of 2006 after 16 seasons in Formula One Michael Schumacher Retires
Below are a few of the many Records & statistics from his fantastic career, Many of which may never be beaten.

So 2006 After an exciting Season and a very close fight at the end Alonso retains the Title and Renault the Constructors, Personally I would put it down to Tyre problems early in the season, The ludicrous over reaction to Michaels error in Monaco, The queue in the pits under the safety car in Turkey and the engine failure in Japan and yes - probably Fate
The one thing I do know is that in the 2007 Season, Alonso may be world Champion But The Best Driver will be sat watching the Races in Switzerland on his Tv
Yes Michael Schumacher is - SIMPLY THE BEST !!

Without Michael Scumacher F1 will not be the same, The greatest racer, Driver and champion
Enjoy life and have a fantastic retirement.... YOU DESREVE IT !!
